Roll Call 11th Birthday Celebration Edition March 29, 2025
Happy 11th Birthday Vanquish!!! Welcome to a time-honored tradition…the Vanquish Roll Call! The 11th Birthday Celebration Edition of Roll Call to be exact. I hope everyone is enjoying themselves as we celebrate our guild and each other.
As always, my Roll Call text will be in Guild Chat. However, I’m introducing a new format that will allow you to ask questions or comment between topics. You can do this via guild chat or voice during the appropriate times. We are gathered on Discord in the PvE 1 voice channel if you’d like to join.
Following Roll Call there will be Lawn Darts for anyone interested in joining. I’ll jump to my death and then award prizes to the members that land the closest to my dead corpse.
Vanquish started on March 30, 2014. The first day of early access, making Vanquish one of the few guilds remaining that is as old as the game is. Our devoted and generous members are the reason Vanquish has been able to remain effective and stable throughout the years.
I’d like to take a moment to recognize newer members we have in attendance here today. If you have been with us for less than a year, which would mean this is your first Roll Call or Birthday Celebration with Vanquish, please introduce yourself. A “hi” “I’m ____” or a big wave in chat.
Some bullet points of things to remember:
*Guild Message of The Day: Changes weekly, usually on Sunday evening to include the week’s upcoming events. ALL times are EST on the MoTD
*Use the EVENTS page on the website to sign up for events that require it. You must have added a character to the website Roster and be signed.
*All items in the Guild Bank are FREE and should be used freely to help your characters.
*Guild hall can be accessed via the yellow/gold text on the Guild Page under “About Us”
*Reasons to visit the Guild Hall: All crafting stations, aethereal well, all types of dummies, all mundus stones, vampiric thrall and basin, transmute station, The Game of Fate boardgame and many other amenities.
*Reasons to visit the website www.vanquishguild.com : Latest ESO News & Guild News. Event signups, vTrial information, Guides, Wheel Decide, Game of Fate instructions, and a link to the Vanquish Store.
*Be sure to set your time zone under your profile on the website. This will list the event start times in your time instead of the default.
*Discord has resources and is full of member and game related chats. If you have muted the server, I would encourage you to take the time to look through the channels and unmute the ones of interest to you.
*Visit the #Role-Assign Channel in Discord where you can sign up to receive notifications regarding specific types of content. Examples: Dungeons, Trials, and PvP.
* Please use both www.vanquishguild.com and the Vanquish Discord Server, they each serve a purpose and will enrich your experiences within Vanquish.
*Duck continues to work on our new site. Not done yet so we are still using the .com site but here is a preview of what he has been working on Website introduction and link
Any questions or comments about MoTD, Guild Bank, Guild Hall, the new/old website or Discord?
EVENTS happening around the guild:

*Saturdays: “Saturday Morning Smackdown”, “Take the Pledge” and “Saturday Night Normal Trials”.
*Sundays: Mornings alternating Storymode “Once Upon a Dungeon” or “World Events” evenings alternating “Game of Fate”, “Normal Trials”, “Imperial City Runs”, and “Intro to Vet Trials” or “Open Vet Trials.
*Mondays: “Monday Night Madness”
*Tuesdays: “Gear Runs!” And Alternating “SP’zoneD” and Sp’zoneD in the DLC”
*Wednesdays: “Warzone Wednesday”
*Thursdays: “Gear Runs” and often a “Vet Trial” or something to prep for a Vet Trial
*Fridays: “Friday Night Fights” followed by “Drunken Friday Night Trials” on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month.
*Although not on the Events page you can find the morning PvP crew out in Cyrodiil every morning of the week! The evening WZW PvP crew are out in Cyrodiil doing Warzone things or Bash things on Monday & Tuesday in addition to the posted Wednesday Event.
*If you’d like to join any of the above events, reach out in guild chat or Discord and we’ll help you find your way into a group.
*Note: Vet Trials and WZW do have requirements, if you need assistance meeting the requirements, reach out to the group(s) for advice.
*Requirements for “Intro to Veteran Trials” / “Open Veteran Trials” have changed! The requirements include minimal gear, CP, and addons. The full list is listed on the TRIALS page of the website.
**Coordinated Veteran Trails** are being added back to the event page.**
*Veteran Trials requirements have changed! The requirements are stricter than Intro/Open yet not overwhelming.
*Sign-ups for Veteran Trials will be done on Discord
*Those wishing to participate in the Veteran Trials will need to submit a ticket within discord, under the Trial category to show you meet the requirements.
*The appropriate VET tag will be set once you have shown you meet the requirements for the role and/or class.
*DPS VET tags will be class specific in addition to role specific. Yes, this means DPS will need a parse submitted for the class they intend to use. If you have more than one DPS class you want to play, you’ll need to submit for each of them.
*Veteran Trials are being planned for Thursdays and Sundays when possible and depending on other static events.
*Each week there may be a different trial, or we may focus on a specific trial for the month, and then depending on progression, attempts at HM (not tri-fectas).
*Veteran Trials will be a team effort. Everyone needs to do their part to help the team be effective. If someone falls short of doing their part, they will be offered help and advice.
* VET tags can and will be removed as a last resort if individuals refuse the help and advice offered. We want each of you to be successful at Veteran Trials, yet we can’t help you if you won’t help yourself.
Any questions or comments about Events, or the new Trial requirements?
State of the Guild:
*11 years and counting!!! Happy Birthday Vanquish!!! This alone tells us we are doing something right.
*The size of the guild has not changed much over the last year. We continually have 300 (+/- 20) members with little change overall.
*New members are joining, some members go inactive, and we seem to have settled in this balancing act that keeps us at a steady 300ish.
*63% of the guild log in daily, that is 190 members of 300 Vanquish members log in at least once every day.
*There is 25% of the guild that logs in at least once every 2-14, some of them play a few days in a row then take a break for a few days.
*The other 12% of the guild are 2 weeks + inactive yet tend to log in for a few weeks at a time and then take a month or two break.
*The math shows 88% of Vanquish members have a consistently high activity ratio. Which is an outstanding number that proves our members’ commitment to the game and each other.
RECRUITMENT:
*As always, our doors are open to family and friends of current members. Continue to direct your friends and family to the site to fill out an application
* Word of mouth from our members continues to be the best forms of recruitment.
*|H1:guild:2707|hVanquish|h is also listed on the in-game guild finder. Members can share the link with potential recruits from the bottom of the recruitment tab on the Guild Home Page <G> key.
*Vanquish participated in the recent 2025 ESO Guild Recruitment Drive that took place on the official ESO Discord, ESO Forums, and ESO subreddit. A few of our most recent members seen our post and found their way to Vanquish.
*Vanquish participates in the weekly reddit Guild Fridays and the ESO Guild Forums. It would be great if members could find the time now and then to give a testimonial or a thumbs up on these threads.
*Side not here that seems to fit best under recruitment: As of today, I have removed the “Recruit” rank from the guild hierarchy evolution. New applicants will now join as “Member” no other ranks or requirements for ranks have changed.
Any questions or comments about the State of the Guild or Recruitment?
Guild Direction:
* Vanquish’s overall direction is not changing, our long-term goal has always been to see our members through all the content ESO has to offer
*We will continue our focus on being supportive of all areas of the game. We will continue to bring all levels of content to our members with events and support that range from beginner to endgame content
*ESO is in the middle of changing the format used to release content. None of us really know what seasons will bring. Just know we will still be here doing whatever they throw at us.
Future Goals:
* Our immediate focus is to bring guild chat back to life! Yes , I’ve said this before.
* I can’t be the only one that has noticed guild chat can go hours, or even the entire day, with nothing more than a “hello” greeting, wzw for auto invite, or a “Sorry that was a mis-tell” message.
* I’m as guilty as anyone, so please do not feel as if I’m singling any one member or group of members out.
* I’m just suggesting that it would be nice to see friendly greetings, fun banter, the occasional dad joke, or trivia question again in guild chat again.
*Please take the time to engage with each other via chat from time to time.
*We’d also like to focus on getting members through the process of getting tags for Veteran Trials so that we have a larger pool of people that can sign up.
*This means those of you that are interested in running Veteran Trials need to speak up and ask for help if you need instructions for submitting your screenshots of requirements for the tags.
*It also means that if you would like to work toward the veteran content you will need to run normal trails, dungeons, and arenas to get what you need.
*That scary place called “Guild Chat” that we will be working on bringing back to life would be a great place to start asking for groups to run the needed content to achieve the required gear.
*There is also a Discord channel named #Looking-For-Group that comes in handy for setting up 4-man groups for dungeons, BRP or Dragonstar.
*You can set your own Discord tags for notifications regarding Dungeons and Trials in the #Role-Assign channel.
*Guild members helping guild members is what Vanquish has historically been about. Yet, we don’t know if you need help if you don’t ask. Again, we can’t help you if you won’t help yourself.
*Duck is working on the new website and bringing it to life so we can count leaving Shivtr behind and having a website that works with mobile as a future goal!
Any questions or comments regarding Vanquish’s Direction and Future Goals?
The 2025 ESO Guild Summit:
*Are you asking yourself “What is the 2025 ESO Guild Summit”? (Because I know I was!)
*It was the developers, community leaders, and players getting together to share and exchange ideas, and it took place on March 13, 2025.
*The summit was hosted by ZoS on the official ESO Discord. The 300 GM’s in attendance represent all types of guilds and came together in Discord from all platforms. (PC, XB, PS)
*I signed up to attended and was invited to also be a guest speaker during the “Guild Management 101” breakout session that took place.
*My overall impression of this first ever Guild Summit was positive. It does seem that ZoS is moving in the right direction in their attempts to communicate better with the players.
*Rich Lambert went over the guild survey results from last October and spoke on them for about 15 minutes.
*He then answered pre-submitted questions and live chat questions for over an hour. I’ll list some of my major takeaways for you.
*They are working on some guild tools for the future such as a search for the Guild Finder, communication tools, event tools, player notes, and leadership avoiding social bands for emails and roster management.
*Future things they intend to work on include things like guild progression, leveling and activities. They are just now starting to dig into what they can and can’t make happen.
*Guild tabards are a switch or type of trigger. They do not have a way to hide them, the guild name, via the tabard, is either on or off.
*There is a performance cost for all things added, and this is why so many of the limitations are in place.
*To allow more guilds they would have to lower the max allowed members in a guild.
*To increase the number of players in a house they would have to lower the number of furniture items allowed in the house.
*When asked about the new “Seasons” format for content, if there would be a new trial this year, if hybridization is working, and what they expected to see from the Cyrodiil Champion test……….
*We were told to be sure to watch the 2025 ESO DIRECT! I know that doesn’t seem like an answer, but it was what we got.
*The Announcement said “Learn about the changes coming to ESO to keep the game fresh as we share the new and exciting adventures you can discover this year. We have big plans for ESO in 2025”
*You can watch the 2025 ESO DIRECT on Thursday, April 10th at 3PM EST on Twitch.tv/Bethesda or YouTube
*If you are interested in seeing a collection of notes taken by several GM’s that attended the summit. Go to our Discord #ESO-CHAT channel and search for “summit”. There is a lengthy post there with questions, answers and notes.
*I will say that I did enjoy the 2025 Guild Summit and that I do hope ZoS does more of this type of event in the future for other things also.
*I was honored that Gina asked me to be a guest speaker in the “Guild Management 101” breakout session. I did my best not to embarrass any of you.
