Vanquish

NEWS UPDATE – MARCH 2025

We are hoping you are making the best of 2025! We know that ESO is making some changes this year with the introduction of seasons, putting some attention into the pvp community, and adding some needed changes to the champion point system.

Here in Vanquish, we are making some changes as well. Starting with Trials, we have finished the roll out of the Veteran system to focus on the fun. Vanquish has never been a hardcore trial guild but ‘casually hardcore’. Over the past ten years, we have tried just about everything when it comes to veteran trials. The more we push to hardcore Hardmodes, the more we begin to move from this guild’s philosophy. We needed to make an abrupt change that focuses back on what makes Vanquish… Vanquish.

We will continue with Normal difficulties, and our Open Vet / Intro that we have always done. We also know that we must have something in place if we wish to do the harder DLC trials. Hence, the new system is now in place, and more can be read on the Trials page located on the navigation bar.

Next is the Vanquish creation of the Game of Fate. The GoF is open to everyone with events on the 1st Sunday of each month. The GoF is like a gameboard within ESO that takes place in our guild hall but nothing like a game board you have ever played. Here, you take on quests, battle monsters, collect loot such as health potions, soul gems, and food. You can land on Fate stone that may drastically change the board, improve your standing, or possibly hold you up. Imagine being cursed with Vampirism making you much faster but more suspectable to fire damage. Or being a werewolf with immense power unless you find yourself in front of a guard. Imagine being sucked into a group battle to take down a Mantikora or even a dragon. Find chests, gather gold, and play as an individual or by teams.

There are 3 objectives with the Game of Fate. First, it’s for our guild. At any time a group can enter the guild hall and begin play. We have instructions on our website, and the discord bots are running. Second, once we have given it enough testing, we want to introduce the Game of Fate to the ESO community. An opportunity for other guilds to host guild events and player involvement. And third, our final goal is to make an official, physical game board to pass out at guild events. Now that would be freakin cool! Before we can move to the final stage, we do need to make sure all the little kinks are attended to.

This coming Sunday we are adding to be more team orientated while speeding up game play. The following changes are made for this coming Sunday:

• For the odd one out, they have use of the companion. The companion always uses the -1 attack ability (to reflect lesser dps than players) but will automatically resurrect their teammate upon death on their turn (providing they are not dead). The companion will also auto-rez at the end of a battle.
• Coming across loot, only one person in the team can roll.
• All loot that the team gathers is shared between team members. IE: if one collects the soul gem, either can use it. • Movement is now based on a 1d10 roll instead of a 1d8. Only one team member rolls (takes turns) and the full team will move those spaces.
• Fate cards were updated. Some cards will specifically read “team” while others are still individual. There is also a NEW SPELL that can be acquired.
• Loot had the “resurrection scroll” added to the table
• If you receive the portal card, your team may jump to either red, green, blue or yellow portal. But there is also a slight chance your spell will fizzle and force you to start over.
• Chests and quests have had their gold reduced so we don’t break the Vanquish guild bank.
• Prizes are based on 10K per participant. If 10 people are playing, the winnings are 100K. (quests, chests are additional) 1st place is rewarded 55%, 2nd place 30%, and 3rd 15%. This is just an example. Places are based on the number of participants. Teams share winnings.
• In the event of death in battle: In a team fight, if one player dies, if the teammate does not rez, even if the battle is successful, the team will respawn at nearest portal behind. No player left behind.
• All monster HP have been increased for team play.

If you have not had the chance to join us, come on by and stop in at the guild hall tomorrow at 8pm EST.

The first two are pretty big changes so far that we’ve been working on. Our biggest change comes with a new website!

Say goodbye to Shivtr. More than 65% of users visit websites on mobile devices or tablets. We have started on a new site that will be mobile friendly. We will be bringing over all the guides, news, and all the stuff you can currently find here. Our forum history, most likely will be gone. So will the member database which will require everyone to sign back up. There is a lot of backend stuff to work on like the application process, events, signups that is sure to give me a headache. We also want the site to talk to discord and back so we can include all guild members. We have a vision and hope to have our new site something that all guild members will find useful.

And finally, when I need a break from the site, I will be looking at our storefront for Vanquish swag. All the art is 300dp but some things can be better. We also want it easier to understand, see all possible colors, etc.. This is your money, and you deserve to know exactly what you’re wanting.

That’s it for now on the news. We have our 11th Birthday celebration coming so we need to start making plans.
