This post is to help introduce new Vanquish members to basic guild information. If you’d like more detailed information you can follow the header links to read further about each topic. Please post any questions/comments/concerns that are not covered, and we will address them. This “New Members Start Here” forum is also used by our new members for posting hello or introduction threads.
Each applicant was asked to please read through the “Overview” section on the application. If you didn’t take the time to do so it is worthwhile to do so now since you have agreed to comply with all the Vanquish protocols. You’ll find a FAQ, Code of Conduct, and a list of the current Leadership Core in the Overview section also.
If you are reading this, you’ve already figured out that you must be signed in to see the Members Only area of the forums. It is highly recommended that you visit the forums regularly to keep up with all things Vanquish. The Events page is something you’ll want to be familiar with so that you can get signed up for (or even host) events and activities that interest you. You will need to add a character to the roster here on the forums to be able to signup for events. Your time zone can be set under “User Settings”>Shivtr Account>Time zone, this is extremely helpful in being sure you know the start time of an event. Reading over the forums new and old will give you a glimpse of where we are and where we have been as a guild. Visiting often will keep you up to date with the day to day activities of Vanquish.
There are numerous events each week you’ll find a calendar full of things to do. Visit the Events Page often to see what is going on and when. Clicking on the actual event will bring up the information and signup page. Some events, such as MnM, SMS, and TTP are open to all that show up, others such as trials or dungeon runs that require a certain size group or specific rolls do require that you sign up. Please be on-time and ready for group formation 10-15 minutes prior to any event. Anyone can host events, please allow a 30-minute buffer between finish/start times.
Discord is the current voice com used by Vanquish members. You can find the link to the Discord server and general Vanquish rules and policies regarding the use of Discord in the Discord forum. Please remember to set your user name to something we can associate with your @name or main character name. You can find the Discord downloads/apps for all your devices here.
The guild chat box is a great place to ask questions, find a group to run with, or just do some socializing. It is the place to ask if you need help killing a world boss, running a dungeon, or just need advice on a quest or build. Our members are helpful people and love to answer questions and give advice (might not be the right answer but we try), so ask away. Some abbreviations or slang used in guild chat can be confusing, if you don’t know what something means just ask. If you are the type that likes to study, here is a list of some of the more commonly used abbreviations.
Vanquish does have a Guild Hall for all members to use. You’ll find crafting stations, transmute station, mundus stones, target dummies, a banker, a merchant and many other useful and fun things at @vanquishguild primary residence. The fastest way to get there is to use the guild roster page in game and “sort by rank” @vanquishguild is found in the first few with a “treasure chest” icon, just right click on @vanquishguild and choose “visit primary residence”.
You can access the Guild Bank in game at the banker, should be the 2nd option just under your bank. Items in the guild bank are free. If you have something you’d like to add for other members, place it in the bank. If there is something you can use in the bank please take it and use it. This is the basic philosophy of the guild bank. Use common sense of course and remember that you cannot split stacks in the guild bank, so if you remove a stack of 20 Recipe: Fishy Sticks so that your character can learn the recipe, please put the other 19 back in the bank for the next person that needs it.
You can access the Vanquish Guild Store in game at the banker, should be the 3rd option just under the guild bank. When the store window opens you should see the Guild Tabard listed for 2,000 gold. It is there when the window first opens, once you do any kind of a search it will not be there, and you will need to close and reopen the guild store window to have the option to buy it appear again. The Vanquish Guild Store is usable by members only, members are welcome to use it with the understanding that we do not have a guild trader, all transactions will be among Vanquish members only. For those interested in trade guilds, ask in guild chat, many of our members can help with trade guild advice.
