ROLL CALL APRIL 2021 VANQUISH’S 7th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION EDITION
Welcome to the Vanquish 10th Birthday Celebration Roll Call! Roll Call is a time-honored tradition for Vanquish. As always, the Roll Call text will be displayed in Guild Chat. Why? Because information read is retained. I know I’m old-fashioned, nothing can be done about that!
WOW Vanquish, we sure have packed a lot into this 10th Birthday Celebration! I hope everyone is enjoying the cake, events, laughs, gifts, and camaraderie. I encourage you to join us for the last 3 events this evening: Lawn Darts, FnF Saturday Birthday Edition, and The Game of Fate.
The format of this Roll Call will be a shortened version so that we can get back to our celebration. Due to shortening the length of Roll Call I want to point out you can find past Roll Call transcripts on the Forums>>>Vanquish Highlights>>>Roll Call & other Vanquish meetings.
Have a look through the past Roll Call’s transcripts to read the normal paste and copy parts of Roll Call. I’ll be skipping most of the General Information regarding Guild Bank, Guild Hall, Website/Forums, Recruitment and all that jazz.
Today we are celebrating Vanquish, our Members, our Family. I want every one of you to know that YOU play an important role within Vanquish. We would not and could not be a successful guild without YOU.
—–CELEBRATING VANQUISH—–
Our Guild Style is one that sets us apart from other guilds. Vanquish is not concerned about what class you play, what your level of experience and skill, or where you rank or don’t rank on the various leaderboards. Vanquish concerns itself with you the player, and how we can best encourage, empower, and aid you through the content of ESO.
Our Guild Culture is one of mutual respect, we foster a member base that exemplifies Vanquish’s core values of: CONFIDENCE, LOYALTY, ACTIVITY, ATTITUDE, and RESPECT. These shared core values are what keeps Vanquish connected and engaged.
CONFIDENCE – A confident member is a drama free member, drama within Vanquish is incredibly low compared to other guilds. As a guild, we cater to the player that is confident, cool headed, selfless, and controlled, while a sense of humor is essential! We strive to have fun and enable the fun of others in a no pressure, mature environment.
LOYALTY – A loyal member leads to guild cohesion. Vanquish members are devoted and steadfast in their support of one another. They are known for their devotion to aiding guildmates. Example: crowning 26 Emperor’s in 8 days. The time devoted, the hours of lost sleep, the meals missed, was a sacrifice only the most loyal of friends would make!
ACTIVITY – An active guild is a fun guild! Events and activities are available to all members each day, there is fun to be had by coming out and socializing with your guildmates. There are also other ways to be active in the guild. Make your own impromptu groups for random normals, pledges, delves, world events and bosses.
Actively interact in guild chat! Answer questions, join impromptu groups, tell a dad joke, share your opinions on a story quest you are doing, chat about upcoming events. Being part of whatever activity is happening can be fun and rewarding!
ATTITUDE – A good attitude leads to good times! I know it can be hard to keep a cheerful outlook sometimes. ZoS does have a habit of disappointing, events get cancelled, group composites can make a goal unattainable, and the truth is somedays life just sucks. Yet we are still here, all of us are still logging in.
ESO, despite some of our dissatisfactions, is still one of the best MMO’s available. Vanquish will continue to offer events, there will always be things to do. Helping your group members learn and improve as you work together toward a common goal should always be more satisfying than the goal or achievement.
One or two positive attitudes in a group of guildmates can turn the attitude of the entire group to a positive rather than negative. Remember, your attitude impacts the entire group, a good attitude leads to good times, and we are all here to have fun.
RESPECT – A respectful guild is a successful guild, the consideration and thoughtfulness we show our fellow guild members leads toward the success of Vanquish as a whole. The day-to-day common courtesies we show one another are what strengthens and binds us together.
Be on time for events, come prepared, and don’t wander off. Free time is a luxury and in limited supply, be considerate of your group’s time and what the group is trying to accomplish. Appreciate your host and group leaders, herding the masses toward a common goal is not as easy as some of our leads make it look.
Be respectful and treat others the way you would like to be treated. Be kind, help guildmates that are still learning and be appreciative of those willing to teach. Respect is earned, however being respectful is the only road to being respected. Vanquish is a successful guild, the common courtesy and consideration we show one another daily powers our success.
Guild Direction of Vanquish has always been dynamic and fluid, constantly shifting to meet the needs of our members while moving forward as we grow and experience all the content ESO has to offer.
Currently we have the new Scions of Ithelia DLC to explore and master. We are in the middle of Jester’s Festival; the Anniversary Event is to begin within a few days. We have Gold Road to look forward to in June.
There is much for Vanquish to accomplish and explore in the coming months. Achievements to work toward, housing items to find, outfit styles to collect, lands to explore, danger and adventure is in the air.
A new Scribing system to learn, a forgotten Daedric Price to meet, and new trial to tackle. I look forward to all of it because I know I will be experiencing it with Vanquish!
With this shortened version of Roll Call, I will not be going over all our static events, They can all be seen on the website’s EVENT page. I do want to bring to your attention events that have changed day or times and mention a few that have been added.
Take the Pledge has moved to Saturday @ 7 PM EST /5 PM PST. We added normal Trials on Sunday @ 7:30 PM EST/5:30 PM PST. Sunday’s trials are preset with a rotation of all available trials included
This rotation allows members the opportunity to fill in missing sets by attending these specific trials. Friday and Saturday Trials are usually by request in the comment section of their sign-up page.
On Sunday’s @ 12 PM EST / 9 AM PST you’ll find biweekly alternating events. One week is “World Events” such as Dark Anchors, Dragonscours, Harrowstorms, Volcanic Vents, etc. The next is “Once Upon a Dungeon” traveling through both base game dungeons and DLC dungeons to explore and experience the quests.
Corwin, or Lenore on Mondays, is now hosting Morning PvP in Gray Host campaign 7 days a week between 8am and 11am EST (5am and 8am PST). The only requirements are a level 10+ DC character and joining the Discord PvP 1 channel.
Corwin has added “Afternoon Dungeon Delight” to the calendar on Thursday’s @ 2 PM EST / 11 AM PST. Runs consist of non-DLC pledges, sometimes the DLC pledge, maybe a normal dungeon for learning, and sometimes a vet dungeon for helms. All depends on the day and the group!

@TheMorningDJ is looking for likeminded people to join him in the mornings for dungeons at a relaxed pace. Exploring the dungeons, looting every container, reading books, and discussing the lore and implication of the missives stashed in the dungeons. Watch for him in guild chat and Discord! Or message him directly if interested.
Watch the #looking-for-group channel on Discord. There are often people looking to put groups together for: farming gear, antiquity leads, helm runs, DLC hard mode, and lots of other things.

We will now be recognizing and celebrating different groups of members! As I ask a group of people to step forward that you are part of, please come forward.
Some members will be recognized more than once, step forward each time the conditions apply to you. Group up, pull up a chair, show us your dance moves, whatever you like, just step forward and allow us to celebrate, cheer, and applaud you.
Those watching and cheering be sure to take note of the members that stand before you. Consider the role each group fulfills in Vanquish. Think about what Vanquish would be without them, and how they each contribute to making Vanquish the fantastic guild that it is.
To start with we will recognize the newest members of Vanquish. If you have joined Vanquish in the last year, whether yesterday or 12 months ago, if in the last year you returned to Vanquish after a time of inactivity (since all things old are new again), please step forward.
The newest members of Vanquish are often referred to as “Fresh Blood”. You are the members that breathe fresh energy into Vanquish. You see Vanquish through a new set of eyes, your reaction to and feedback about the guild is a fundamental part of what drives us forward.
Whether you are new to ESO or have been around for years, we welcome you to our ranks. We invite you to participate and take an active role in the guild. Relationships are built and friendships are forged through time spent together and experiences shared.
We are excited to have you as part of Vanquish. You will find us knowledgeable and prepared to help when called upon. No matter the obstacle you face, Vanquish will be standing ready to help you overcome and conquer.
It is through you, the new member, that all Vanquish’s spirits are lifted. You give us the opportunity to affect your gaming experience in a positive way through our actions and deeds. By allowing us to share our culture and values with you, you allow us to grow and evolve as a community.

Next, we will recognize those that have been members for more than 1 year and less than 5 years. For those that don’t want to do the math…..If I’ve been the only Guild Leader of Vanquish since the day you joined…..please step forward!
The 1 – 5year Vanquish veterans are loyal and dedicated individuals that are each an important part of the overall guild cohesion. They are the members that initiate impromptu groups for doing content. These experienced members are often seen in guild chat starting groups for random normal, pledges, arenas, or any other group content.
Vanquish’s 1-5 yearers are the first to volunteer help when someone needs it. These veterans of Vanquish are the people that make things happen, they start the invites, give advice, offer up their gear, and in general make groups successful.
Each of you, 1-5 yearers, deserve to be recognized and celebrated for being the motivators among us. You encourage others to become involved in guild activities through your enthusiasm and passion for Vanquish.
You are the members that tell inspiring stories to Vanquish’s new members about the first time you attended a Vanquish special event, or how many hours the World Boss Marathon lasted, what exactly naked trials are and why they are a must. You make others want to experience all that Vanquish has to offer.
You are also the educators and mentors of our new members. You 1-5 yearers share your knowledge freely to help guide your guildmates to success. Whether it be mechanics, builds, how to make gold, what siege to use, which skill morph is best, or which addons are the most helpful, you are always willing to share what you know.
These veterans before us are an amazing group of people that have fortified and strengthened our ranks with their loyalty and honorable deeds.
To all of you 1-5 yearers, we say THANK YOU! You are the charismatic, appealing members that are the face of Vanquish.

Members that have been with Vanquish for more than 5 years step forward. If you do not want to do math…. you can remember a time when I was not the Guild Leader of Vanquish, or you might even remember Vanquish without me on the roster. Please step forward old-timers.
These members are the most seasoned veterans of Vanquish. Seasoned members have stood the test of time, they have not faltered. They have been there, done that. And most of them have the T-shirt to prove it! Some have several T-shirts.
You, Vanquish’s seasoned veterans, are a remarkable group. You are both the foundation and the pillars of Vanquish. We have all been together for a long time, we have celebrated the good times and we have endured the troubled times.
Throughout the years you have overcome every obstacle we faced, aided in completing our goals, nurtured our wounds, and celebrated our accomplishments. Accomplishment that would not have been possible without you.
You represent a decade of dedication and commitment, full of compassion and understanding. You paved the way for those that would come after you and welcomed them with open arms. You, our seasoned veterans, have remained united moving Vanquish ever forward into the next chapter of our adventures together.
Your honor is undeniable. Your generosity is unmatched. Your selflessness unending. You are the noblest of heroes, the true champions of Vanquish. Words cannot express our appreciation for all you have done.
Seeing you all there together reminds me of times long past when our roster was few, and our resources limited. You have invited your friends to join us, you have built our coffers, you have spent countless hours generously giving of yourself, and you have never expected anything in return.
We applaud Vanquish’s seasoned veterans, and to each of you we say THANK YOU. Your combined auras are rooted deep within the guild, they have woven together to create the immortal soul of Vanquish.

The Vanquish Guard is comprised of senior members who have dedicated their time and effort for the benefit of the guild. These sentries of Vanquish stand guard and protect our core values through their ability to teach, lead, and guide other members.

The Vanquish Guard are individuals within our guild that promote and strength Vanquish’s core values through their interactions with the guild.
Their contributions to Vanquish include but are not limited to willingness to help with anything, advice and knowledge shared, leading and/or running events, crafting services, a sense of humor and ability to bring laughter to us all.
You, the Vanquish Guard, are the delegates of Vanquish. You represent not only our core values, but as a group you are a perfect representation of the guild. Your attitude is contagious, you lift all our spirits with your presence. You instill trust and confidence in those around you.
Your uncanny ability to navigate and steer us back on course before anyone knows we drifted off is astonishing. You are the first to head off disappointment with words of encouragement. You always find a positive in every situation.
When an unexpected void occurs within the guild you are there to fill it. You can and do jump into action in a split second to lend a hand in any content. You are always prepared and on time, you tell the best dad jokes, and offer the soundest of advice.
We created the Vanquish Guard rank to be a lasting recognition for exemplary members who routinely surpass all expectations in their service to Vanquish. Today we celebrate and recognize the Vanquish Guard for keeping us dynamic and lively. To each of you we say THANK YOU for being the heart of Vanquish.

Members of the Leadership Core please step forward.
Our leadership team follows a “guild first” philosophy, forgoing playing entirely for themselves and putting the guild and its members ahead of all else. Helpful, understanding, transparent and confident, the leaders of Vanquish drive the guild ever forward.
Currently the leadership core is made up of 2 Commanders, 2 Captains, and 4 officers. This group of people handle all day-to-day operations and administration tasks of Vanquish.
They are your application approvers, invite senders, roster keepers, content leads, community advisers, member managers, event planners, community moderator, prize fund coordinators, and cat herders. As if their job wasn’t hard enough, they are also the advisors to the Guild Leaders.
Every member of the leadership team works together to ensure that Vanquish has the structure it needs. I could spend hours telling you why your Leadership Core is the best around, and all the amazing things they do for you daily, but shortening Roll Call means concessions had to be made.
Honestly, they are in service to the Vanquish membership first and foremost. It is who they are, and what they do. And they are extremely good at it. You all know that as well as I do.
To you, the Vanquish Leadership Core we say THANK YOU! You are the essential core structure of Vanquish.

As we close out this Roll Call and we get back to the 10th Birthday Celebration this evening, I want to take just a moment to recognize our entire Vanquish Family
At some point each of us found our way to Vanquish’s doorstep. Looking to make new friends? Searching for other players to help us learn the game. Felt like we had to join a guild to complete the group content? Needed to open some wayshrines? Hoped there would be a trader?
Whatever the reason we found our way here, the one thing we all have in common is we choose to stay. We came through the door thinking we knew what to expect then found something else completely different inside.
Vanquish has become our long-term gaming home, and a very large family lives here. Like any family we’re not perfect. We certainly don’t agree on everything. Yet we all value this family and this house no matter our struggles. Everyone of us is here because we want to be, not because we must be.
THANK YOU, Vanquish Family, for providing so many years of support to all of us!!! HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY ALL!
